About the Role

PetFlow is seeking an Analyst to join our operation and report to the General Manager. This unique position will leverage data and strong analytical skills to create intelligent business models and decisions, focusing on customer segmentation, margin profiles and overall operational excellence.  This unique opportunity will provide invaluable exposure to the strategic components that enable an eCommerce company to run profitably at scale. This role is expected to help the team manage and complete a mix of daily core functions, routine analysis work and ad-hoc projects. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to have a real impact on our bottom line from day one.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related or analysis-heavy concentration -OR- strong experience in an analytical, startup or finance role.
  • Advanced knowledge of excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools
  • Experience using GA to surface site behavior insights, or eager to learn how!
  • Excited about solving problems, digging into complex data sets, and building sensitivity models
  • Attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to summarize analysis results and recommendations concisely and clearly
  • Bonus: Experience working in ecommerce, or a company with diverse user-profiles, large merchandise selection, marketed across multiple channels

Responsibilities

  • Assist all departments with regular data analysis, including
    • Customer cohort insights
    • Marketing channel performance
    • Site analytics (demographics, page performance, technology tendencies)
    • Product margin analysis & trends
  • Assist merchandising operation with developing and maintaining a pricing strategy
  • Model ROI templates and worksheets for strategic projects
  • Own our BI tool, RJ Metrics
    • Data imports
    • Report/dashboard building as required
  • Run ad-hoc reports and data requests as needed through SQL, RJ Metrics or other
  • Surface insights into customer behavior and tendencies to help drive product decisions
    • On-site activity
    • Order modification tendencies
  • Leverage data & insights to coordinate product development with our product managers
