About the Role

PetFlow is seeking an Merchandising Manager to lead our merch team and report to the General Manager. This person will own our product catalog, pricing strategy, category analytics, vendor relationships and work to create strategic wins across our assortment. You will be leading two merchandising analysts, serving as a mentor to help grow and develop our younger talent while keeping our category and product assortment on the leading edge of the industry. 

You are...

  • A college grad, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in business or analytical/quantitative discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant ecommcerce experience, preferably with a few years in a managerial role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a personable, patient demeanor.
  • Strong Organization and Prioritization Skills: You are not phased by varying and competing workflows, and have the ability to work through items in order of importance.
  • A Driven Self-Starter: You are a confident decision-maker and can act autonomously.
  • Humble: You know when a problem is larger than you can handle and seek help.
  • Data Savvy: You love working with Excel and are comfortable analyzing data.
  • Analytical by Nature: you are familiar with Google/web Analytics and can leverage data to spot trends or needs
  • Problem Solver: You love troubleshooting to find and resolve the root cause of any issue.
  • A Team Player: You love working with people toward accomplishing a common goal.
  • Experienced in CPG Industry: You understand the vast product catalogs involved and the tight margins to maintain/maximize. You have experience working with large multinational organizations to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage two merchandising analysts and prioritize their weekly workload.
  • Own the product catalog - understand industry trends & be the spokesperson for what we carry and why.
    • Optimize brand and category assortments by uncovering gaps in product offering
  • Own our pricing strategy - develop a comprehensive pricing strategy & discover pricing opportunities through competitive analysis. Find a balance between manufacturer pricing policies, competitor prices, and healthy margins.
  • Oversee the analysis and upload of monthly and ad-hoc vendor price changes. Analyze the margin impact of said changes and adjust retails where appropriate.
  • Oversee digital product set up and maintenance for 10K+ SKU catalog.
  • Facilitate upload and compliance with brand Minimum Advertised Price updates.
  • Oversee product conversions, including discontinuation and new product setup.
  • Resolve warehouse receiving issues resulting from product information discrepancies.
  • Oversee coordination of vendor invoice price error resolution with our finance team.
  • Investigate inventory issues and consecutive vendor PO shorts.
  • Develop & maintain brand relationships to stay on top of innovation and SKU rationalization
  • Coordinate with the Endless Aisles team (sister company) and Phillips’ (parent co.) Merchandising department to develop an offering that meets market demands and is inline with parent company initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Phillips’ merchandising team on greater merch strategy/areas for improvement.
